my maternity portraits | a navarre beach maternity session

i have been dreaming of and dreading these portraits at the same time! i wanted to take my maternity portraits a little earlier on in my pregnancy, but we’ve been battling terrible weather, frosts and mud for the past 2 months! i was 32 weeks when we were able to drive to florida to visit my parents and my mom stepped in to take these pictures for us! i am so grateful for my mom, as well as autofocus 😉

the day of pictures, was the day before we left the beach. i was in no mood to take them…but i knew that i needed to. i had maternity pictures with my first kiddo, but my husband wasn’t in them because he was working and we literally squeezed them in at 36.5 weeks and I had Walker the morning I turned 38 weeks! talk about last minute… 🙂

but my mom told me to just get ready and we would go have fun. and we did. my dad held our stuff on the beach while my mom pranced around in the sand with my camera. i wish i had a video of it! then my husband took over the camera and got some of me and walker and then just me. we had a gorgeous pastel sunset and beautiful sun when we arrived. it was 72º and i could not have dreamed up a better place…the beach we went to was private and although there was a tiny audience that watched us…it was so fun to watch my son ask, “can i take some?”…he kept jumping in and taking pictures with me. i especially love the ones where he wanted to walk at the water and hold my hand and give me kisses! we took so many photos, but i narrowed it down to a few to edit and share. i am amazed at all the blessing the lord has poured out on my family and continues to pour out on a daily basis. celebrating this time in our lives with pictures is just what i needed, even though i didn’t know it. <3
