now that my baby is almost two {eek…where has the time gone!?}…i wanted to get creative with his birthday pictures.
i’m not the type of photographer that uses a lot of props…i think they can get in the way and really make or break a session. i prefer simple images. clean. timeless.
speaking of time, it needs to stand still. i remember when walker was just discovering his hands at a few days old, when he realized the adorable laughter was coming from his own mouth, when he tried chocolate for the first time…it’s gone by so so quick! he will be two in a week and a half and i am having a hard time with it!
he’s potty training {and doing VERY well!!!}, he tells us when he is ready for bed, he helps me with laundry, he picks up after himself most of the time 😉 and he is a good eater!
he likes to read books, he loves Blaze and the monster machines cartoon and he loves our cluck clucks!!! {his chickens…}
i did the typical ‘birthday’ pictures that i’ll eventually order and put in an album or hang on the wall…but i wanted something a little more special. something more us.
we love pajamas…he calls them jam jams. he especially likes footie jam jams because he can slide around everywhere – he’s such a boy 😉
so for his second birthday…i decided to do a lifestyle session. i’m a stay at home mom, so most days we play in the sunroom, the living room and we just make a mess! i wanted to document that. not the mess…the fun that creates it!
i’ll go ahead and stop rambling and show you what we came up with… 🙂
i think it is so important to take pictures of kids in their own environment. they feel safe and they are more willing to cooperate! believe it or not…i got all of these fun smiley pictures, without using m&m’s as a bribe!!! i know…i couldn’t believe it either.
