according to Merriam-Webster…
success {noun}: Suc•cess
~the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame
~the correct or desired result of an attempt
~someone or something that is successful: a person or thing that succeeds
i am no stranger to failure. i spent 5 years in nursing school and failed my final test…bummer, i know. i’ve struggled with failure, i’ve lived with failure…but i refuse to BE a failure!
i’ve had in my mind for a while that i have to book a certain amount of clients or weddings in a given year to be ‘successful’. but what do i really consider successful?! i don’t think success can be achieved by reaching a number of clients. i had to really sit and think about this the other day. most people would think i’m crazy. of course your success is based on your clientele. to a point, they’re right…but that is only success in my business.
to me, success is…
1} being able to work from home and still devote time to my son and husband. not just time, but quality time that they need from me.
2} enjoying what i do, at home and not at home!
3} giving 110% to every client that contacts me – whether it is a wedding or just a family session
4} walking away from a job knowing that i gave it everything that i could have
5} gaining personal relationships with my clients and other professionals
looking at the list above…i realize it is only the end of April and i am successful!!! gasp!!!!
i want to walk away from this year with no regrets! i am challenging myself to quit second guessing everything and just jump in…feet first! i want to see what i am really capable of!!!
