to rebrand or not rebrand? that was my question for 3 weeks straight! i hit a point in 2016 that i quit attracting a particular type of bride because i was capturing completely different images than i was the previous year. my style evolved, my approach changed and i was no longer what she was looking for…so i had to find the bride that was looking for me…and that is why i decided to rebrand!
my branding at the time was not representative of the type of wedding work i was wanting to shoot. i love my brides that helped me get started in the wedding industry and i love the experiences we all had together! they helped shape me into the photographer that i am now! my wedding work and my portrait work was not very cohesive and posting them both to the same website, was going to start confusing my clients…so i rebranded and re-launched my website at the beginning of this year {2017}, in hopes to attract my ideal client.
guess what. she found me. my ideal bride. my ideal clients…found me!! multiple times too! every single bride that i meet with talks about how helpful my blog posts have been and how they’ve been inspired in their wedding planning!!! i was hoping that my blogs would help at least one bride…even if she wasn’t going to be my bride…i wanted it to help someone. so those blogs i was putting out…hoping the right eyes ran across them…were 150% worth it!!! i put myself out there and my brides found ME! it is such a relief to sit down with a bride and discuss their wedding plans, engagement plans, flowers, food and invitations and everything just completely line up with your artistic vision. it’s like finding a long lost friend that you never knew you had!
rebranding my business changed the way i do things. i no longer book brides on the spot, regardless of if they are wanting to or not. i will do a blog post on what a typical wedding consultation looks like for me…but that will come in a few weeks 🙂 i give my brides the opportunity to meet with me, tell me their story, look at my work and decide if i’m the right fit for their wedding day. but it also gives me the opportunity to find out if they’re a right fit for me and my brand as well.
finding my ideal bride and allowing her to find me easily…that is why i decided to rebrand my business!
