i was so excited about this engagement session! i have always adored plantation style homes and properties (gone with the wind fan!) and i’ve only been to one wedding there. i always dreamed of shooting there and my dreams have finally come true thanks to lauren and matthew!
lauren had a vision for her engagement session and i am so happy we were able to make it a reality! we were texting and emailing back and forth before their session narrowing down outfit choices and last minute details. i was absolutely no help in the outfit department because everything lauren sent me a picture of…i loved…so she brought it all and we decided last minute what she was going to wear!
so i’ve been starting something new with my brides. i always ask how they met their fiancé, how he proposed, etc. but now i am having them answer a few questions in a questionnaire so i can share their story in their own words, alongside their images! so i asked lauren the following questions… 🙂
How did you meet? – We met at Crossfit Laminin, a crossfit gym. We were in the same friend group. We met during a workout class and really hit it off when our friend group went on a trip to Lake Martin. That is when he asked me on our first date after we spent all weekend at the lake talking together like we were the only two on the trip.
How did he propose? – He proposed on our getaway trip on his boat on Lake Martin by Kowaliga, a beautiful area on Lake Martin. We had champagne on the boat after he proposed. He planned for our parents to be at the lake house when we got back and made steaks and drank wine and champagne.
What was your first date? – Our first date was running/ hiking at Red Mountain and then we went to a crossfit workout class and then chipotle for dinner.
When did you know he was the one? – I think I knew early on I loved him. I had never felt that way about anyone and I had never told a guy I loved him before. I was always protecting myself and didn’t fall for guys so quickly. I am not sure exactly when I knew he was the one, but I knew I loved him early on. He was different than any guy I had ever dated and we connected on a level I had never before. He is an intellegent, compassionate, athletic, God-loving man, with amazing values and virtue. He treated me the way Christ loves the church. I think I knew he was the one when we were sitting together cuddling watching the Office and eating Halo top and he told me he loved me for the first time.
and yes…she said Halo top! love over ice cream…yes please! 🙂
