lauren and matt’s wedding day was full of excitement, laughter and anticipation! as lauren was in the chair getting her hair and makeup done, i watched her nervously twist her hands together and mess with her engagement ring. you can literally see the excitement building up in her! the bridesmaids were passing by left and right, getting ready for the lauren’s wedding all while giggling and nervously talking about the day.

when matt arrived, he was cool as a cucumber. this is how 95% of my grooms are! just ready to start their forever with their fiancé. he was ready to get dressed and have his first look with his beautiful bride!

lauren and matt’s wedding day took place at creekside plantation in mooresville alabama. i have been wanting to photograph a wedding here for a long time and my dreams finally came true thanks to matt and lauren.

their wedding day was a dream come true from start to finish. from the gorgeous bouquets, the beautiful scenery at the venue, the excitement radiating from everyone…it was so fun to be there and witness lauren’s dream for her wedding day take shape.

lauren was able to have three first looks. one with her bridesmaids, one with her father and then of course one with her future husband. each one was filled with a different emotion. with the bridesmaids, it was pure joy and excitement when they saw her in her dress! with her father, it was a huge smile from lauren followed by a goofy face from her dad! i love to see true personalities come out in these moments…not the ‘what i was expected to do’ moments 🙂

and then the moment where matt first saw lauren. as i told lauren to start making her way to matt, i could hear him inhale and exhale slowly…the moment he had been waiting for was finally here. all of the planning, the stress, the decisions, boiled down to this moment. getting to see each other before the ceremony helps take a huge weight off of your shoulders on your wedding day! you get to breath, live in the moment and talk to each other and get the pre wedding jitters out! one of my favorite parts of the day.

immediately following the first looks we went into our romantic portraits with lauren and matt. this was so fun! creekside plantation offers some of the most beautiful scenery for portraits…and we had shade throughout every part of the day. that is a photographer’s dream, especially for a may wedding. their day went so smoothly. even when we were feeling the crunch of time early on in the day…i reminded lauren that this moment only comes once. don’t rush through portraits with you future husband because you think you have to take hundreds of photos with your bridal party. we will squeeze them in later for sure! just enjoy the moment with your man. and they did exactly that. they were so easy to photograph because they are so in love. every time i would tell matt to look at lauren and then look back at me for a picture…his eyes would linger on her for as long as they possibly could! it was the cutest thing!

lauren and matt, i am so grateful for couples like you! you allowed me to capture your love story as i watched it unfold. your love for each other is so evident in the way you treat each other and how you treat each other’s families. i love you guys!
