heather & drew | a southern downtown tennessee wedding

heather and drew were married in tennessee on october 23, 2021. this wedding was so dear to my heart because it was on my 10 year anniversary weekend! october weddings are always so beautiful that when i get an inquiry for one…i almost never turn it down.

they got ready in a gorgeous house on campus that had some of the prettiest architecture i’ve seen in a while. the doors were arched at the entrance with a big antique gold door knob. it was stunning! heather got ready in a room downstairs overlooking campus. she was able to have her makeup done in front of one of the windows which was letting in some gorgeous light. we ended up taking a few bridal portraits there during her getting ready pictures and i am so glad that we did!

drew was able to get ready upstairs in the same building that heather got ready in. this made getting ready for their first look so easy! we were able to lead drew out to the front entrance while heather waited in her room. their first look was so so sweet! most couples have their first look, say a few words and then tell me they’re ready for their portraits. drew and heather were able to see each other and really savor the moment. they spent a good 10 minutes talking to each other and checking out heather’s flowers, veil and gorgeous gown!

family portraits and bridal party portraits were also taken at the house on campus. it had some wonderful shade, but it really wasn’t necessary for their absolutely perfect october wedding day! being able to have a first look and take portraits before a wedding ceremony really relieves some of the stress that a wedding day an bring to the bride and groom. they were able to take care of the formalities before really enjoying their ceremony!

the ceremony was held downtown at the courthouse. this was not a typical courthouse. the giles county courthouse is definitely a picture worthy one! we took so many portraits outside of it immediately following their ceremony. it was beautiful.
