my sweet baby girl is 15 months old. i cannot believe it! she’s our last baby and i feel like she’s growing way faster than my other two did. it is bittersweet to watch her explore things for the first time and experience all her ‘firsts’ as a baby. she’s running into toddlerhood and i’m not ready!
the lesson i learned behind these pictures is….always take the pictures! we’ve been so busy with our remodel and i’ve been so caught up in it not being ‘ready’ that i’ve neglected to take actual portraits of my kiddos rather than just snapshots. i adore my little snapshots but there is so much that a camera phone just misses…
when i pulled into the farm after a session last week, i thought, man that clover is so pretty! i need to take my kids pictures. it immediately sound like too much work! i convinced myself that we would do it another day…and then i pulled all the way up the hill and saw the gorgeous sunshine shining through the clouds…and i knew i needed to do it. my boys weren’t into it and so i threw a dress on my baby girl and we ran outside. no camera bag, no fancy gear, just me and lainey, my camera and one lens. i barely had time to throw flip flops on! i am so grateful that i took these. i thought they were going to turn out rough since it was so bright…but i think it played in my favor <3
