my family has always been concentrated in my little town. my grandparents have lived within 30 minutes of us and obviously my siblings lived in my house before we were all married {most of us married!}. now that we are all {almost all} married, my older brother got relocated to Missouri for a job and my little brother is in the Army…so he is in Washington right now. growing up i always wished they would leave me alone. they constantly bugged me and nagged me. i did the same to them. we were each others best friends and worst enemies! we all worked together at the pool during the summer and we all shared vehicles and helped each other with college homework, etc. as kids we used to wrestle in the living room, play ‘the floor is lava’ and jump from couch to couch, build mazes with our school books, and play hockey in the kitchen….and yes, the hockey was dad approved – he had a huge hockey stick and served as goalie!
now that they aren’t here 24/7 to bug me, harass me and make life difficult 😉 i miss them terribly. add the fact that my older brother and his wife have given me a niece and a nephew…and my little brother is giving me another sister, it just makes it 10 times harder! i miss them so much! but i know that every time we all get together, it is fun and wacky and crazy! although they don’t get to see each other much, my son has two great cousins that he gets to visit with every few months…and he loves them to death!
i love getting to spend time with them and photograph them. every one has a love language…i have a few. one of them is acts of service. i love using the gift of photography to bless other families with lasting memories. plus i can hold photographs for ransom to ensure visits 😉
