bridget and austin approached me last year about photographing their wedding. at the time i had very little experience. i had 3 solid weddings under my belt and they were putting ALL of their trust in me  to beautifully curate their engagement and their wedding day. austin and i were in the youth group together at central baptist church 🙂 he was the kid that launched me off of the BLOB on the lake at church camp, the guy that helped arranged our secret poker night at church camp, and the guy that can make anyone laugh! i am so happy that he has found bridget…she completes him in ways that i can’t even explain. at each wedding i shoot, i have a moment where i tear up. sometimes there are a few moments. that moment at bridget and austin’s wedding was their first look. stress was building throughout the morning of the wedding and they just needed to see each other! i left quicker than i normally do for a first look, because as soon as they hugged and kissed i knew they just needed some alone time to talk and calm each other down before their ceremony! as soon as austin laid eyes on his bride, he didn’t let go of her! it is always an honor to get photograph first looks alone 🙂 it’s like a little private moment that i am privy to. it’s great!

moving on…bridget is a die hard auburn fan. austin is…not. he’s bammer jammer all the way 🙂 {ROLL TIDE!!!!} so naturally i was surprised when i found out their wedding color scheme was going to be….red, white and black 🙂 i knew austin had some alabama stuff up his sleeve. their wedding cakes were so beautiful! austin’s groom cake was actually a cookie cake. yes, it was an actual cookie! it smelt like a bakery if you got close to the table. it was fantastic!

to sum things up…bridget made the ultimate sacrifice in allowing some alabama memorabilia to be present on one of the most important days of her life 😉 brownie points for bridget!

bridget and austin’s love for each other, will no doubt, allow them to overcome obstacles in their life.
