why every bride needs an heirloom album
this is the question that will be racing through your mind while reading this…why do you need one?!
i’m sure if you’re planning your wedding right now…or even newly married and reading this, the title of this post spiked your curiosity and you just had to click and see why you need an heirloom album!
chances are…if you’re married, engaged or in a serious relationship…you’ve had a small argument with your significant other. do you remember it? you probably got upset about something totally ridiculous but you made a huge deal about it, because you’re a passionate person and you love the person you’re arguing with…which brings even more emotion into the argument! what does this have to do with albums?! stay with me….
ok…you’ve been married for 4 glorious months…you just had your first fight. you’re so upset. was this all a mistake? did you do the right thing by getting married? you sit down on your sofa…fuming! you look at the coffee table in front of you and you see your heirloom album staring back at you. you look around the room, focused on your argument…but your eyes keep going to your album…maybe i’ll just look through it really quickly. we had such a beautiful wedding.

you start by brewing a cup of coffee in your favorite mug, you settle into your sofa with your fuzzy warm blanket and you open the cover of your album…
the first page is a picture of you in your dress, holding the most beautiful bouquet…but you aren’t focused on the bouquet, your focused on your groom standing beside you and admiring his bride. the emotion in the picture alone is enough to make a tear slip down your cheek… you turn the page and see your bridal details, the exact moment your mother buttoned up the back of your lace gown, the tears in her eyes when she realizes her daughter is getting married!!!
you continue to flip the pages and come across your first look…and you’re immediately taken back to that moment. the moment where your heart is beating so fast and your mind is reeling with thoughts that are absolutely crazy! what if he doesn’t like my dress? what if the shoes are too much? i hope he likes my hair this way! you tap your groom on the shoulder and he turns around and immediately embraces you because regardless of the shoes, the hair and the dress…you’re what he wants. for forever.
a soft smile touches your lips as you turn the page and see your sunset portraits, gracing the next page is your ceremony…the look of excitement as your dad walks you down the aisle…the look of admiration your mother has on her face as she watches her husband hand over his little girl.
you make it to the last page and you’re sorting sniffling as you see your grand exit from your wedding reception. you realize that when you left, you left as a new person. the other half to your husband. and in that moment…your argument slowly fades away from your mind and all you want to do is embrace your husband and remind him that you chose forever. you chose him.
