sarah and glen’s wedding day was so sunny and cheerful! the smell of sweet citrus greeted me as i walked into Loft 212 and i was thrilled to see the orange accents! yes…orange, the fruit not just the color! sarah chose to use coral, orange, baby blue, pinks and soft greens as her color palette. it sounds like a lot but the way she chose to incorporate the colors was so dreamy and fun.
their day was full of fun dancing, laughter during bridal party portraits, and even some sweet tears during the ceremony. wedding days that are full of emotion are my absolute favorite! you can feel the excitement just walking into the rooms…it’s the best!
i asked sarah to fill us in on a few things about her and glen!!!
How did you meet? – I was in town because of a job interview I had. That night I went to dinner with my college roommate, and after a two of our girlfriends called and asked us to have a drink with them before we went home since I was only in town for a few days. When we got to On Tap glen was sitting at the table with them. He asked for my number the next day and then we talked constantly when I went back to Pensacola until I found out I got the job and was moving to Birmingham.
How did he propose? – It was his moms birthday party and we were all on the back deck taking family pictures. After the grandparents took pictures with the kids it was our turn. He then turned and asked if I would marry him. Immediately after I called all of my friends and family all over Alabama and Florida. Little did I know that a hour later all the people I had called would walk in one by one to his moms party to surprise me.
What was your first date? – When I finally moved to Birmingham two months after we met, I went over to his house to hang out. We sat and talked for hours until it was late and I went home. The next weekend we planned for me to meet all of his friends. Little did either one of us know that when I walked in I had known all of his friends for years, and seemed like everything was falling into place.
When did you know he was the one? – Memorial Day weekend 2017 we spent at his parents lake house, it was the first time I had spent a entire weekend with him and his parents. I was working nights then, and he had ended up taking the day off the following Tuesday. We had went back to his house to hangout before I had to leave for work. I was taking my bag out to my car and he took out the trash when I met him back under the carport I realized he was crying. We then went inside and he told me how much I meant to him and how he loved how I loved his family, and I told him how much he meant to me. He then told me he loved me for the first time. I knew then I didn’t want to lose him.
