katelyn and phillip’s wedding day! wow! not only did they have one of the prettiest days in may…which seems to be a theme for my brides this year…they had one of the most beautiful days at the botanical gardens in huntsville alabama. their day was filled with happy tears, laughter, forgotten rings (they were recovered!), and pure joy. you can look through their images and see the absolute love and joy on their faces. portrait time was so fun, i had to keep reminding phillip to listen instead of just starting at katelyn…which is how every groom should be! desperately in love!

katelyn and phillip chose to do a first look, right after katelyn had a first look with her father. i kept those images off of the blog because i want katelyn to be able to relive that moment in private before it is shown to the world. i love when my brides choose a first look because it gives them a chance to let those wedding day jitters go! they can see their groom earlier in the day and it just always seems to lighten their mood.

after their first looks and the bridal party photos we were able to capture a ton of family portraits before putting katelyn into hiding before their ceremony. one of my favorite parts of their ceremony is when katelyn’s brother in law, austin, who is also a previous groom of mine ;)(check out their blog here) , played the guitar and sang for their unity ceremony. such a sweet moment. after the ceremony we all made our way to grand hall where katelyn and phillip enjoyed their first dance and were able to cut their beautiful cakes! their reception was fun and relaxed and it gave them plenty of opportunities to mingle and visit with guests which i think is often overlooked by brides when writing out their timeline for the day. always always always make time for your sweet guests!

i am so grateful for the brides and grooms that have chosen me to document their day and i especially love when i can capture these beautiful wedding moments for multiple people in their family!
